Home (Swiss) Made Leek Pie - Great Winter Recipe

Did you know leeks are a real cardiovascular support? Their nutriments help our blood vessels from damage. Not everybody likes leeks. Moreover kids don't always appreciate them. So here's quite a simple recipe to reconcile everyone with leeks. Yes we will use bacon, if you don't like bacon, you may replace it with small pieces of ham, the taste won't change much.

The Recipe


Material & Ingredient (8 portions)
  • 150gr of gruyere (swiss cheese)
  • 1 puff pastry
  • 1/2 cup of bacon
  • cream 5%
  • 1 & 1/2 leek
  • 3 eggs
  • salt
  • pepper
  • cinnamon
  • 1 round pie pan
  • ceramic beads
  • 1 grater ( to grate the cheese)

First Step: Mix Eggs, Cream, Salt & Pepper with a Whip

Second Step: Bake The Puff Pastry Without Anything in it!

Place the puff pastry in the pie pan, and make wholes all over it with a fork (it's very important). On top of it, place a baking paper with the ceramic beads (you can buy some in a pastry shop, if you don't have any you can replace it with fruit core, raw pasta, or nuts). Bake it for 15 minutes at 180°C.


Third Step : Prepare And Cook All The Ingredients

Cut and cook the leek in a pan. Same with the bacon. Grate the Cheese. Put half of it with the cream & eggs mixture.



Fourth Step: Fill Your Pie

Add in your pie the dry ingredients, leek and bacon. Then, add the creamy mixture. Finally on the top add the cheese. Try to spread all ingredients all over the pie to have the same quantity of each all over.



Fith Step: Bake your pie 30 minutes at 180°C
